Jason grew up in Manchester. His love was playing sports. He did not have much interest in school , so when we turned 16 he left school. After leaving school , Jason an his brother joined a Youth Training Scheme. He got a job as a painter and decorator. When we wasn't working he spent his time dancing , specifically break dancing. He was part of a dance crew called "Street Machine". Through dancing he landed a role in the UK show "The Hit Man and Her". Howard Donald was also on a dance crew in Manchester and their respective dance crews were considered rivals.

He auditioned for TT when he saw an ad in the paper and TT was formed.

After TT split , Jason travelled the world . In 1998, he decided to study acting in New York. The was in several plays on the London stage including "Gob" and "Let's all go to the Fair". He also had a tv role in the UK in "Killer Net" . He played a drug dealer in that role.

Jason also went back to school to study Psychology and Sociology.

He was part of the reformed Take That when the band got back together for Take That documentary in 2005 and the reunion tour in 2006. He is currently still with Take That .

 Jason is very enviromentally conscious and often contributes to various charities.
